Lifecycle governance for engineering work
Command Center tracks epics and stories from initial intent through release and operation. It is available to project members on both desktop and web.
Five stages and four gates
| Stage | Purpose | Exit gate |
|---|---|---|
| Ideation | Establish the product need and high-level solution direction | Gate 1 · PRD + HLD sign-off |
| Inception | Elaborate the implementation design | Gate 2 · LLD review |
| Construction | Implement the work and prepare it for validation | Gate 3 · Peer + security review |
| Validation | Validate release readiness | Gate 4 · Release sign-off |
| Operation | Release, operate, and observe the work | No additional formal gate listed |
Work items
Command Center supports epics and stories. A work item carries lifecycle state, gate status, artefacts, comments, review decisions, and read-only Jira context when that integration is configured.
Project personas and reviewer model
The eight project personas are engineer, capability lead, guild, product, QA, security, release manager, and leader. Roles shape who reviews which gate and how review requirements are assigned.
- A gate can contain required and optional reviewer slots.
- Approval satisfies the reviewer’s assigned decision.
- Rejection requires a reason so the team knows what must change.
- Per-gate card indicators communicate open, pending, approved, or rejected state.
Board views
Command Center can present work through board-oriented alternatives such as List, Timeline, Swimlanes, and Grouped views. Use the view that best supports the current conversation: detailed triage, sequencing, ownership, or sprint review.
